For seniors that would like to remain as safe and comfortable as possible, however, it is important to take a close look at just how dramatically warm weather could affect them. Here is a closer look at five ways that all seniors can beat the heat and stay safe during the summer months.

1. Hydration

The number one step for seniors staying safe during the hotter months is to stay hydrated throughout the day. Not only does water provide an individual with a huge number of health benefits, but it will also allow the body to regulate heat much more effectively. While individual needs vary, eight cups of water is the absolute minimum for anyone. Individuals can also stay hydrated with a number of other options including sports drinks that will replenish electrolytes.
