Important Training Announcement for NCALA Provider Members!

NCALA will host a training session with the NC Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Medical Assistance staff on Monday, here August 6, sickness from 9 am–2 pm regarding the following topics impacting our industry:

Consolidated Personal Care Services Reimbursement Process—Learn about the criteria for eligibility in the budget bill passed by the NC General Assembly.

Institutes for Mental Disease—Adult Care Homes with more than 16 beds may be subject to data review of paid claims to determine if more than 50% of residents are residing in our setting based on a mental health or substance abuse diagnosis.

1915(i) State Plan for Special Care Units in Assisted Living—The NC General Assembly has instructed the NC Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Medical Assistance to submit a new 1915(i) State Plan specifically addressing Special Care Units in Assisted Living.

Space is limited to 30 attendees. NCALA will accept registration on a “first come—first served” basis. This training is being offered free of charge and lunch will be provided. Four CEUs will be offered. This training will be held at the NCALA office at 3392 Six Forks Road, here Raleigh, NC 27609. NCALA Executive Director, Peggy Smith, will be joined by Sandy Terrell, NC DHHS DMA Assistant Director of Clinical Policy & Programs, and Talbatha Myatt, NC DHHS Facility & Community Care.
