Providence One Partners LLC and DeBartolo Development LLC recently broke ground on a $24 million, 173-unit independent living community in Wildwood, Fla.
Providence Independence, a full-service rental community, is designed for seniors aged 55 and older and is situated on seven acres of land adjacent to The Villages, a master-planned age-restricted retirement community with more than 89,000 residents.
“The population in this primary market area is expected to continue to grow at record rates resulting in an increased and unmet demand for independent living rental communities,” DeBartolo President & COO Edward Kobel said in a statement. “We are excited to be in this real estate sector, and given the current demographics this is the right time to grow our presence in this area. The DeBartolo organization has always operated from a family approach and providing seniors a first class living opportunity like Providence Independence is truly an extension of our family.”
Amenities will include a business center, a coffee cafe/grill, a fitness facility, a full-service restaurant with a dancing floor, music, and bar areas, a card room with billiards, a barber/hair salon, a theater with a full gaming area, a chapel, central living rooms, craft and sewing rooms, 24-hour secured access, and an outdoor exercise lap pool with surrounding sundeck and cabanas. Providence Independence will be a three-story building with 123,838 square feet of living space.
