BRANDON, FL- Hawthorne Village of Brandon received two prestigious awards from LTC Support Services at the company’s annual awards ceremony in Galesburg, Illinois earlier this month. LTC Support Services contracts with 21 retirement communities in 4 states and hosts their annual event to recognize outstanding locations and programs.
Brandon’s facility received an award for excellence in skilled quality care, which recognizes the campus who met the organization’s standards the best.
“Hawthorne is committed to an exceptionally high standard and continues to pursue new ways to integrate patient services with the best medical care to offer a truly unique experience to our residents and their families,” said Vernon Zeger, Executive Director of Hawthorne Village of Brandon. “It is through partnerships with our doctors, Brandon Regional Hospital and other health care facilities in our community that we are able to achieve such great excellence in skilled quality care.”
The Bounce Back program, which also received an award, helps patients to “rehab, recover and return home.” Treating those who were hospitalized for major illness or sudden trauma, Bounce Back combines skilled nursing care and continued therapies to alleviate pain, restore function and improve mobility. Last year through the Bounce Back program, Hawthorne successfully returned over 470 residents home after completion of physical therapy and rehabilitative services.
“I am excited that our Bounce Back program leads the nation in helping patients achieve the restored health that allows them to remain independent,” said Zeger. “Our interdisciplinary team of physical, speech and occupational therapists, case managers, nurses and doctors create individualized plans with realistic goals for each resident; these plans guide the recovery and rehabilitative process to ensure the greatest success.”
In addition to the two awards the Brandon campus received, the Regional Director of Operations, Deborah Franklin, was awarded The Directors Award, which recognizes the director who shows outstanding and ongoing service and contributions to the success of their locations. Covering the state of Florida, Franklin also manages campuses in Ocala, Lakeland and Sarasota.
