Eastern Awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias has made great strides in the past 10 years. The American Society on Aging, Senior Helpers and the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America are collaborating to present a three-part webinar series, bringing you relevant and meaningful resources, techniques and ideas you can immediately implement with people who are living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
Sessions will be presented by Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA. Teepa is an occupational therapist with over 30 years of experience working as a dementia care and dementia education specialist.
STRATEGIES TO HELP WITH TOUGH ISSUES: DRIVING, BATHING,
AND MANAGING MEDICATIONS
This webinar will identify some of the critical factors for optimizing positive interactions related to driving, bathing, and medication management. In addition, it will also help you recognize the role that your words and actions play in the behavior and responses of people with dementia. Teepa will discuss the use of positive communication strategies in interactions as well as identify techniques that improve the potential for successful communication. This webinar is appropriate for healthcare professionals and family caregivers.
